A decade full of project monitoring
As long-standing customers, the tech experts have been enjoying the benefits of ZEP for more than 10 years. Before the tool was introduced, Excel files were traditionally used, but these quickly reached their limits and were prone to errors. “The evaluations were difficult to prepare because employees filled out their time sheets individually and only submitted them monthly. Since the introduction of ZEP, we have been saving time and important resources,” recalls Christian Hayer, managing director at Steinbeis EST. For Esslingen, the most important functions include time recording and attendance planning, the reminder function for missing project times, project monitoring and the billing of individual projects.

“We probably only use some of the features that ZEP offers. Nevertheless, we have recorded around 100 projects and over 150,000 hours via ZEP in the last 10 years,” says Hayer. Tech professionals benefit in particular from every new ZEP version, as new features are constantly being added that make working with ZEP even easier and support the workflow. The approximately 20 employees do not use support. If problems arise, “Helping people to help themselves” is the order of the day here. As programmers, the professionals are all experts in the field and are so familiar with software that they can quickly find a solution for any problems themselves. At Steinbeis EST, ZEP is only used via the web front end, as each team member works on their own computer. And even new colleagues quickly find their way into ZEP after a short period of familiarization.
