A decade of project monitoring

As a long-standing customer, the tech experts have been enjoying the benefits of ZEP for more than 10 years. Before the tool was introduced, they classically worked with Excel files, but these quickly reached their limits and were prone to errors. "The evaluations were difficult to create because the employees filled out their timesheets individually and only submitted them monthly. Since introducing ZEP, we have saved time and important resources," recalls Christian Hayer, Managing Director at Steinbeis EST. For the Esslingen-based company, the most important functions include time recording and attendance planning, the reminder function for missing project times, project monitoring and the accounting of individual projects.

"We probably only use a part of the functions that ZEP offers. Nevertheless, we have recorded about 100 projects and over 150,000 hours through ZEP in the last 10 years," Hayer says happily. The tech professionals in particular benefit from each new ZEP version, as new functions are always added that make working with ZEP even easier and support the workflow. The 20 or so employees do not make use of the support service. If problems occur, "help for self-help" is the order of the day. As programmers, the professionals are all experts in their field and know the software so well that they can quickly find a solution to any problems themselves. At Steinbeis EST, ZEP is used exclusively via the web frontend, as each team member works on his or her own computer. And even new colleagues quickly find their way around ZEP after a short familiarisation period.
