What is ZEP Clock?
ZEP Clock is legally compliant time and attendance tracking for teams without project billing. Working hours, overtime and absences are handled digitally, and the payroll export is included. Employees clock in via the app, in the browser or at the terminal. ZEP Clock costs €4.50 per user per month on an annual contract, €6 on a monthly plan.
Who is ZEP Clock for?
For companies without project business that currently document working time in spreadsheets, on paper or not at all. Usually HR, office management or a commercial assistant takes this on, without a dedicated HR department behind them. Typical triggers are legal requirements, an upcoming audit, growth or an outdated legacy system.
What is the difference between ZEP Clock and ZEP Track?
ZEP Clock books working time: clocking in and out, breaks, overtime, absences. ZEP Track also books project time, meaning which client and which project an hour goes to. As soon as hours are to be costed, analyzed or billed, ZEP Track is the right product line. ZEP Clock is a separate line, and a switch from it to the project-based lines is not provided for.
How much does ZEP Clock cost?
€4.50 per user per month on an annual contract, €6 on a monthly plan. That is a saving of up to 25% with the annual contract. Optional extras are travel expense accounting at €2.50 per user and the ZEP terminal at €15 per terminal. Add-on prices are the same on monthly and annual contracts.
Does ZEP Clock feel like surveillance to the team?
This is the most common concern before rollout. ZEP Clock documents, it does not evaluate. Everyone sees their own hours, remaining vacation and overtime. Anyone who needs records has them, and anyone with a question checks the system instead of asking colleagues.
Can we also reach employees who don't work at a desk?
Yes. Employees clock in via the ZEP app, in the browser or at the ZEP terminal, offline as well. The app is included in every product line, and the terminal can be added for €15 per terminal per month.
How do the figures get into payroll?
Via the payroll export, which is included in ZEP Clock. Ready-made integrations are available for DATEV Lohn und Gehalt including LODAS, Personio and Lexware. Third-party integrations are unlimited in every ZEP product line, with no quota.
Which features can be added to ZEP Clock?
Three: travel expense accounting and HR management with skills and compensation at €2.50 each per user per month, and the ZEP terminal at €15 per terminal per month. Both user add-ons can only be added in ZEP Clock. In the project-based lines, travel expense accounting is included from ZEP Operations upward and HR management in ZEP Business.
What do the ZEP Assistant and ZEP MCP do in ZEP Clock?
Both are included in ZEP Clock at no extra cost. The ZEP Assistant is the AI chat in ZEP: it submits leave requests, tells you your remaining leave and creates new employees by chat or from an uploaded employment contract. ZEP MCP connects ZEP to your own AI application, such as Claude or ChatGPT. There you add working hours or check remaining leave, with your permissions and only after your confirmation.
