How to configure the DATEV interface

Connect DATEV with ZEP
DATEV integration comprises two areas: export for accounting (invoices & receipts) and payroll (payroll/LODAS). For payroll accounting, you need the DATEV Wohnimportdatenservice and Payroll Results Data Service Services — already included in many DATEV packages.
After activation, enter ZEP under Administration > Interfaces > DATEV Enter your consultant number and client number and establish the connection by clicking on “Connect DATEV data service”. Finally, for automatic master data synchronization, enter Administration > System > Tasks a DATEV synchronization task.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions and answers about ZEP DATEV integration.
Who is DATEV integration with ZEP suitable for?
The integration is suitable for service and consulting companies that use ZEP for project times and billing and DATEV for accounting and payroll. They particularly benefit companies that transfer invoices to DATEV in an audit-proof manner, automatically export payroll data and want to reduce the manual effort between time recording and tax advisors to a minimum.
How are invoices and receipts handed over to DATEV?
Invoices and cost statements are exported in DATEV XML format — as a posting batch with associated documents as a ZIP archive. Using the DATEV online interface, data can be uploaded directly from ZEP, without the detour of manual file transfer. All uploaded documents can be viewed in history in the DATEV upload log in ZEP.
Do DATEV services have to be booked separately?
For payroll accounting, you need the DATEV services Lohnimportdatenservice and Payroll Results Data Service. These are already included in many DATEV packages. If your tax advisor or an external payroll agency does the billing, they can arrange for the services to be booked directly.
What data does ZEP transfer to DATEV for payroll accounting?
ZEP transfers the recorded working hours of employees and absence data, including the appropriate DATEV wage types and default codes. The export can be filtered by department, month and individual employees and transferred directly to DATEV — without manual intermediate steps.
Which DATEV products are supported by ZEP integration?
ZEP supports the transfer of invoice and document data via the DATEV XML interface and direct upload to DATEV Online. Both DATEV Lohn & Gehalt and DATEV LODAS are supported for payroll accounting. Synchronization is carried out via the DATEV services Lohnimportdatenservice and Lohnresultdatenservice.
