FAQ
Frequently asked questions and answers about the ZEP Zoho People integration.
Who is the Zoho People integration with ZEP suitable for?
The integration is suitable for service and consulting companies that use Zoho People for HR management and ZEP for project time tracking and project controlling. Internationally positioned teams that maintain employee data centrally in Zoho People and want to use this information in ZEP for time tracking, absence management and resource planning — without duplicate maintenance — benefit particularly from this.
Does the Zoho People integration support international teams with different data regions?
Yes. Zoho People stores data in different regions depending on the company location. The ZEP integration supports all three available Zoho data regions: Europe, USA and India. During setup, you select the appropriate region — the connection is then made securely via OAuth2.
Does the Zoho People synchronization work in both directions?
No, the interface transfers data exclusively from Zoho People to ZEP. Zoho People remains the leading system for employee master data and absences. Changes in ZEP are not transferred back to Zoho People. This ensures that Zoho People is maintained as the central HR data source, while ZEP always works with current data.
How does the Zoho People integration help with project time tracking in ZEP?
For employees to be able to record project time in ZEP, their master data and employment periods must be correctly stored in ZEP. The Zoho People integration ensures that this data is automatically kept up to date. New employees are created in ZEP, departures are taken into account, and absences are immediately available for reporting and resource planning.
What data is synchronized from Zoho People to ZEP?
The integration transfers employee master data such as first name, last name, email, mobile number, address, employee number, as well as start and end dates of employment from Zoho People to ZEP. In addition, approved absences including absence type, start and end date, note, and whether the absence is full-day, half-day or hourly are automatically transferred.
