Connect HR WORKS to ZEP

The setup is done in just a few steps. To do this, you need API access data from HR WORKS — consisting of Access Key ID and Secret Access Key. You create these in HR WORKS under Admin > Basics > HRworks API (requires the API administrator role).

You then enter the login data in ZEP under Administration > Interfaces > HR WORKS One. Finally, put under Administration > System > Tasks Start a new HR works task — from then on, the synchronization runs automatically.

Only partially. Employee master data flows exclusively from HR WORKS to ZEP — HR WORKS is the leading system here. Conversely, project times are only transferred from ZEP to HR WORKS. Changes in HR WORKS have no effect on recorded times in ZEP. This clear separation of direction ensures that both systems remain consistent.

Are new employees from HR WORKS automatically created in ZEP?

Yes Once user import is activated, ZEP recognizes new employees in HR WORKS and creates them automatically — including all synchronized master data. Newly imported users first receive limited user rights and must then be provided with the desired permissions in ZEP.

Which data is synchronized between HR WORKS and ZEP?

The integration automatically transfers employee master data such as name, email, address, cost center, date of birth and profile picture from HR WORKS to ZEP. In the other direction, ZEP transfers recorded project times to HR WORKS.
