Software comparison: ZEP vs TimeTac
Add-on functions
While TimeTac can be divided into three modules "Working time recording", "Project time recording" and "Holiday management", ZEP offers the following programmes Compact and Professional offers an even wider range of additional, optional functions that allow a higher degree of customisation. This makes it possible to add functions step by step in order to find the right solution and avoid unnecessary costs. Examples of this would be an option for Document management and the function of the cross-location project work. The TimeTac time recording software cannot map these functions, even at extra cost.
Time recording, break times
Both ZEP Clock and TimeTac offer the option of recording working times via the desktop and corresponding Apps to be recorded. Both solutions enable the individual recording of working hours and break times, with statutory break times also being preset. A real-time overview of hours worked, overtime and hours still to be worked is displayed in both systems. In addition, specific activities can be stamped in both systems in order to track the time invested in each task.
Holiday management
The TimeTac time recording software also offers the option to record and manage holidays for an additional charge. This means that both tools offer a range of functions, such as the approval of holiday requests, a separate holiday planner and a team calendar. Overtime is also automatically recorded in both time recording systems.
Customisable design
In contrast to TimeTac, ZEP Clock makes it possible to use the company colours and logos through a customisable design in order to integrate the corporate identity into the time recording system.
Support
With both ZEP and TimeTac, the Customer support can be reached by phone and email, which ensures consistently good and fast support. Both providers also offer webinars and additional help material to support their customers in using their time recording software.
User-friendliness
The user interface of TimeTac, especially in the web and desktop version, is perceived as somewhat outdated and less modern. ZEP Clock also keeps the design simple, with user-friendliness taking centre stage.
Summary
The decision between ZEP Clock and TimeTac depends on individual requirements. While TimeTac offers all the standard functions of time recording software, ZEP Clock is a more cost-effective alternative that also has these functions. In contrast to TimeTac, the modular structure of ZEP Clock makes it possible to cover specific requirements - flexibly during use if necessary.
